There is a wide range of renewable energy technologies which you can install on your home including:
- Solar Photovoltaic or Solar PV which generates electricity and earns you cash back from your energy company through a feed-in tariff
- Solar Thermal for hot water and heating and which will earn you cash through the Renewable Heat Incentive from the end of 2012
- Biomass – a wood pellet or wood chip heater which can be used just for a single room or to heat a wet radiator system and hot water
- Wind turbines – these come in a range of sizes and also earn a feed-in tariff
- Heat pumps – both air source heat pumps and ground source heat pumps which are ideally suited to underfloor heating but can be coupled to radiators
